Gary Van Wyk | Girls Playing (Novo Futuro Village, Brazil, 2018)

"After four days travelling by boat, deep into the Amazon Rainforest, I felt the power of nature in a way I never had before. Among the Huni Kuin, I witnessed a connection to the natural world that is both ancient and unbroken, and it showed me something simple: when we are guided by nature, we walk our true path.

This work was born from that connection. It is a celebration of nature’s astounding beauty, and a reminder that we are not separate from it. We are nature.

The Huni Kuin are the guardians of the forest. They deserve our respect, and our protection."
