We built Ultraviolet with a vision of community as its foundation. As part of the mission we've undertaken as Cape Town's only gallery dedicated to contemporary art photography, we're always looking out for exciting new voices in the medium. If you'd like to get on our radar and join this community, or potentially exhibit your work in the future, this is the right place. Every submission that comes through this form is looked at, considered, and kept for future reference.

Our curator reviews submissions in their own time, alongside running the gallery.

What to submit
- Images
- 8–20 images from a single, cohesive body of work — not a full portfolio. We want to see how you think in a series.
- Format
- JPEG, longest edge at least 2000px, under 10MB per image.
- Statement
- 150–300 words on the work — what it's about, why now.
- Bio
- Under 150 words.
- Series info
- Title, and the year(s) the work was made.
- Contact
- Your name, email and city, plus your website or Instagram if you have one.
What happens
next
We aim to respond within 14 days if we'd like to see more of your work or talk further.
If you haven't heard from us in that time, it means this particular body of work isn't the right fit for exhibition right now — but it doesn't mean much beyond that. Every submission stays in our database for future consideration, and we genuinely mean it when we say: keep making, keep submitting. Programmes evolve, and the work that doesn't fit today might be exactly right in a year's time.
